Chocolate Bowls

Hello!

In celebration of World Chocolate Day, which was on 7 July, here's a yummy DIY project for today.

Make your very own bowls... of chocolate!

You'll need:

  • A variety of balloons in small or medium size
  • Two large chocolate bars melted at 60 degrees Celsius (do ask your parents or an adult for help with this)
  • Parchment paper
  • Baking tray

Instructions:

  • Inflate your balloons and make sure they are clean.
  • Line the baking tray with parchment paper.
  • Spread a 4 to 4.5 cm circle of melted chocolate on the parchment paper.
  • Dip the balloon in the melted chocolate and place it over the chocolate circle. Make sure the chocolate isn't too hot or the balloon will pop while being dipped.
  • Refrigerate for about 30 minutes for the chocolate to harden.
  • Once the chocolate hardens, pop the balloon.
  • After peeling off the balloons, if you see a hole formed at the bottom, use a spoon to drizzle chocolate inside to plug up the hole.
  • Fill the bowls with the dessert of your choice and serve.

You can watch the entire procedure in the video below.

Enjoy!

Remember: Have a parent or guardian around to help you with this project, especially with the melted chocolate and the popping of the balloon. Have fun responsibly!
